Do you plan any future development board using the ATXmega256A3BU?
I am looking for a breakout type board, using the above SOC, with USB
and battery connectors.

Not really... I may use an XMEGA with more FLASH for a handheld version of the Xprotolab...

Do you have an idea of when you might have a hand held version of the Xprotolab completed?? Would some pictures of what the completed device might look like be available ?
